Kitchen Table Sesh
Dinner, dialogue, death, and connection
Community elder: Chris Leonard
Join us for ADINKRA's closing event: Kitchen Table Sesh — an intimate dinner offering food as ritual, remembrance, and celebration. All vibes, hang out and enjoy good food with good people. Get to know each other and our invited community elder, Chris Leonard. Our guest of honour is a long-time grief worker, with over 40 years of experience supporting marginalized communities in Toronto.
Catering by chef Rachel Adjei of The Abibiman Project, with a scrumptious three-course African menu of vegan, gluten-free, and meat dishes.
Sponsored by Ontario Community Changemakers, 8 80 Cities, and the Balsam Foundation
Grief & Loss in Dialogue
Ayoola Silvera
This 90-minute interactive dinner activity is inspired by the Human Library®. Participants are invited to explore experiences and perspectives on grief and loss through guided conversations, thoughtful prompts, and small-group exchanges. Bereavement professionals will join the dialogue, offering insights while creating space for shared reflection, curiosity, and connection.
