ABOUT THE BOOK:

Spirits Come from Water: An Introduction to Ancestral Veneration and Reclaiming African Spiritual Practices

There’s a certain type of radical healing that takes place when we reconnect to our ancestral lineage and follow through with their wisdom to navigate life’s complexities.

For those who wish to decolonize their minds, particularly Black women, comes a thoughtful guide to ancestral veneration, with a focus on the importance of reclaiming African spiritual practices as an act of liberation.

In Spirits Come from Water: An Introduction to Ancestral Veneration and Reclaiming African Spiritual Practices (Hay House / Penguin Random House), New York-based writer Ehime Ora shares the importance of connection to the ancestors and to one’s spiritual roots.

About the author:

Ehime Ora is an Edo-Urhobo Nigerian scholar, writer, artist, and priestess of the Ifá and Òrìsà tradition. As a traditional healer, her work serves as a bridge for those searching for ancestral connection, generational healing, and empowerment. The author of Ancestors Said: 365 Introspections for Emotional Healing (Hay House / Penguin Random House), Spirits Come from Water is her second book.
