The Ancestral Arts Collective takes an interdisciplinary approach to teachings that prioritize the arts, storytelling, professional development, care, and connection. Here is an overview of our current offerings:

Afterwords

A book club that explores literature on navigating death and grief from an Afrodiasporic lens.

Arts projects

Exhibitions and arts projects related to mourning, loss, care, ancestors, and African spiritual practices, as explored by Black artists and writers.

Dreamweavers

Dream circles to explore intuitive practices of dream interpretation and discuss dream stories in community.

Kitchen Table Sesh

Community dinners with an invited elder or special guest, based on the stone soup model. Participants contribute one food item towards a meal prepared communally.

Ritual & Reel

Film programming on grief, death, mourning, and ancestral practices to educate audiences on African traditions in the diaspora.
