Offerings
The Ancestral Arts Collective takes an interdisciplinary approach to teachings that prioritize the arts, storytelling, professional development, care, and connection. Here is an overview of some of our current offerings:
Arts projects
Exhibitions and arts projects related to mourning, loss, care, ancestors, and African spiritual practices, as explored by Black artists and writers.
Guest speakers
Local and international speakers who share their expertise in the arts, African traditional religions, grief work, and death care.
Kitchen Table Sesh
Community dinners with an invited elder that offer food as ritual, remembrance, and celebration. An intimate gathering to network, share resources, and prepare one Afrodiasporic recipe communally — and in community — with other Black caregivers, grief and death-care workers.
